We were founded in 1972 by Jim Neeley as a sole practitioner with a client base of 20,000 acres. Today, we manage over 200,000 acres for 400 clients in Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. Our professional staff includes four registered foresters, with over 200 years of experience in the forestry profession. We also have two licensed Certified General Appraisers, one State Registered Apprentice Appraiser, and four licensed Real Estate agents on staff.
Neeley Forestry Service offers a broad spectrum of services to our clients, including timberland management, oversight of silvicultural improvements, inventory and acquisition cruises, appraisals, timber and timberland sales, hunting lease administration, wildlife management, and group forest certification. Our clients include banks, law firms, accounting firms, trust departments, timber companies, and non-industrial private landowners.
Jim’s first 15 years as a forester were spent working for timber companies. He served as a unit forester for International Paper Company in the Hampton District and as a procurement forester for Georgia Pacific. He started consulting full time in 1971 when he established Neeley Forestry Service, Inc. He has served on numerous local and state boards and his long 60 year history in the timber industry has been very valuable in the management of our clients’ properties. Jim received the 2015 UAM “Distinguished Alumni” Award for his years of contribution to the UAM forestry program.
JD joined his father’s firm upon graduation in May of 1985. JD has worked in all aspects of forest management including timber cruising, timber sale preparation, appraisals, supervision of herbicide application, tree planting, burning, boundary line surveys, and road construction. He is now the president of Neeley Forestry Service and has oversight of the management of clients’ properties as well as Principal Broker for United Country Neeley Forestry. JD has always been an “outdoorsman”, traveling to many states in pursuit of deer, turkey, elk, mule deer and waterfowl. This experience has greatly aided him while helping investors and outdoor enthusiast buy or sell timberland. JD and his wife Beth have two children, Daniel who now works at the firm and a daughter Taylor, who is studying pharmacy at UAMS. JD and his family are members at First Baptist Camden, where both he and his son are active deacons, and JD teaches the college and career class.
Josh graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in May 2000 with a B.S. in Forestry. Josh began his career with Neeley Forestry in June 2000. While Josh is involved in all aspects of our firm, Josh’s primary duties are appraisal services and land brokerage. Josh became a state registered appraiser in 2002 and a certified general appraiser in 2009. Licensed in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas, Josh takes on the lead role in most appraisal projects. Josh is also deeply involved in our land brokerage services. He has been a licensed real estate agent since 2009 and attained his broker license in 2012. In his spare time, Josh enjoys hunting with this family or on the water fishing for bass and crappie. Josh and his wife Heather have two daughters, Sarah and Bella.
Daniel has been a licensed Arkansas real estate sales person with United Country – Neeley Forestry since 2013. He graduated with a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) in 2012 and recently earned an MBA through Southern Arkansas University (SAU) in 2014. In college, Daniel was a member of the UAM Forestry Club, the Society of American Foresters, and Xi Sigma Pi Honor Society. He now holds a membership in the National Association of Realtors, the Arkansas Forestry Association, and the Association of Consulting Foresters. Daniel specializes in land sale marketing, analyzing timber volume, and utilizing GIS database management to create spatial maps. He will also be able to deploy a remote controlled quad-copter in order to get a “bird’s eye view” of the stand composition within tracts of interest. Having lived in Camden, AR for all of his life, Daniel has grown up having instilled in him a firm passion and responsibility for the outdoors. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, paintball, and studying military history (particularly WWII).
Ricky joined NFS in July of 2017. Ricky has over twenty years of experience starting as a research assistant, forestry consulting, and most recently with forest industry/REIT. Ricky was able to gain a broad variety of skills and expertise including forest management, forest certification, certification compliance/auditing, BMP compliance, rare species management & conservation, wildlife habitat management, GIS & GPS, research, alternate forest incomes, easements, appraisals, and real estate. Ricky enjoys spending time traveling with his family and outdoors, hunting, fishing, or camping. Ricky and his wife, Anne, have one daughter, Victoria, and three sons, Richard, Thomas, and Andrew.
Chase Jerry joined the Neeley Forestry team in May of 2022 following his spring graduation from Louisiana Tech University, where he earned his B.S. in Forestry. Chase tends to fill the gaps and work where he is needed. Things such as logger supervision, timber cruises, and even timber marking often occupy his time. Chase is a registered forester in the state of Arkansas. Chase lives in his hometown of Junction City, Arkansas, and is a member of their volunteer fire department. He enjoys hunting, filling ice chests full of fish, and spending time with his wife Regan.
Jordan joined the Neeley Forestry team in February of 2022. She is a Camden native with a big love for our small town. Jordan can be found in our office with a hand in everything from hunting leases to real estate, including billing, advertisement, and social media. You can always find Jordan lending a helping hand in every aspect of our business to ensure good customer service, prompt replies, and an excellent experience for all our clients. Outside of the office, Jordan is an active member in our local country club as well as a dance teacher and photographer. While she has a packed schedule, she enjoys most of her spare time with her husband, Houston, and two daughters, Ella and Finlee.
